We’re always on the lookout for young adults to spend all or part of a gap year with us. However, we also have a couple of vacancies of a different kind which we’d love to fill.

Please note: The Oakes does not have any paid employees, so all our team are self-employed and responsible for raising financial and prayer support. We would be happy to help you with this and there is time given to develop these relationships.

Operations Team Leader

We are looking to appoint our first permanent Operations Team Leader, responsible for overseeing the activities which support our front-line work ensuring that campers and team are well cared for.

We are looking for someone

  • with a track record in managing people and finances
  • able to manage the process of change by effective communication and coordination
  • who can build strong working relationships with the Operations and Senior Leadership Teams

House Manager

We are looking to appoint a House Manager, responsible for ensuring The Oakes provides a comfortable and clean space for all our guests and the live-in team.

We are looking for someone

  • with experience of customer service to ensure the house is welcoming and functioning to a high standard
  • able to manage a team of volunteers with mixed ages and abilities, to ensure the smooth running of camps and the well-being of the team living on-site
  • who can build strong working relationships with the Oakes community
  • who can lead an assistant and residential trainee in good practice
  • Praise for Paul and Rob, who have taken responsibility for these roles in the interim.
  • Pray that God would provide the right people to fill these essential positions.
