A Legacy of Generosity

Written by Jonny Greaves

The Oakes has been open for nearly 20 years now and we are delighted to have heard so many stories of how the good news of Jesus has changed young lives forever. The urgent need to bring the gospel to children has united The Oakes’ team over these two decades. One of the wonderful ways that I have seen God at work in this time is The Oakes Holiday Fund. This bursary fund was set up soon after the charity started to ensure that no child would be unable to attend The Oakes for financial reasons. In the last two years, the fund has provided assistance to over 200 children, allowing them to come to an Oakes camp, but also providing important respite for parents in financial difficulty.

The work of the Holiday Fund is only possible because of the generous contributions from churches and individuals who have given over the years. It is a privilege to see such acts of generosity in action! Find out more or give online.

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.

Proverbs 19:17
  • Praise for the fund as it gives more children the opportunity to come to The Oakes.
  • Pray for more donors so we can keep supporting this legacy of generosity.
