Netherside Hall Opens

In February 2015, Netherside Hall went for auction and by God’s amazing provision, it was purchased for the use of Yorkshire camps. The challenge since last February has been to refurbish and make the property suitable for camps. Work has included a new kitchen, showers, toilets and extensive decorating/refurbishment. Gifts and volunteers appeared throughout 2015 and by the opening weekend (21-22 November) a significant proportion of the building was completed and ready for their first camp over New Year.

The opening weekend was a real privilege to be part of. On the Saturday, a cold but beautifully sunny day, over 400 visitors travelled from all over the UK to be involved in this special event.

On the Sunday, a service of dedication and thanksgiving took place. Andy and Hannah Peace shared the vision for the ministry and the story so far, including many incredible answers to prayer. Dan Thaw, also a trustee for Yorkshire Camps, then dedicated the centre and prayed for the work.

Finally, Roger Carswell (Hannah’s dad and also a trustee, pictured) spoke from Ezra about the need to keep focused on God and stay faithful to the word and the proclamation of the gospel.

It was an exciting and inspiring day. Exciting for Andy, Hannah and Chris and Kate Booth (their co-workers) as they finally saw their work and prayers come to fruition. Inspiring for Dan and I and the many other visitors to see again how God brings about His will, in His way and in His timing.

Please pray with us that thousands of children and young people will come to know Jesus in this amazing place. Pray for the resources to grow Netherside Hall into a fully operational centre, sharing the gospel and glorifying God in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

Please support the work of Yorkshire camps with your prayers, gifts, practical help, by volunteering on team and by encouraging people to book their children on to camps.
