Not since the first boats returned home to Scandinavia from their raid on Lindisfarne Island have people so looked forward to the coming of the Vikings!
Over 300 people of all ages attended The Oakes on Saturday for our annual Family Fun Day! Despite the gloomy forecast, the sun prevailed and it turned out to be a glorious day in many ways.
The highlights for many involved getting caked in mud on the aptly named “Mudder”, rolling around in a zorb for the very first time or monkeying around on the ropes course or bouldering wall. For the younger ones, there was also a bouncy castle and crazy games as well as tee-shirt and face painting. Many enjoyed guided tours and the ice cream maker was a hit, as always. There really was something for everyone!
Many guests brought a picnic and invited friends and family to join them. There was an encouraging interest in the camps and many bookings were made during the event.
Next year, our Family Fun Day will be on Saturday, 24th June from 10am to 4pm. We hope to see you then!
