Team Reunion Begins TODAY!

As Rach explained yesterday, a lot has been happening here lately!

Today we prepare for the arrival of ex-team members, spanning back as far as a decade! It promises to be a bit manic since Slessor only has half a floor and the corridor outside is filled with mattresses, Henries and various tools. But preparing that side of the house isn't the only job on the list today! The now empty team lounge has to be prepared for Wii battles, the fire has to be lit and maintained, there are carols to be practiced, and the snow will have to be swept from the golf course too. Plus we will be continuing to rip out the inside of the Boiler/Pink room ready for the new team kitchen. This will be an intensely welcomed change because it will provide greatly needed extra space and will mean the general centre of noise and activity will be situated further away from bedrooms.

It's going to be a busy day (and weekend!) but praise God for all the people arriving tonight, all with a shared history with the Oakes. It promises to bring great spiritual encouragement as we hear stories of not only times here but also of what ministry is being carried out by them now.

I hope everyone's Christmas preparations are going well, especially John, Helen and Andy's as it won't just be Christmas they'll be preparing for. It's going to be a sad change after the new year without them, but then again everything here at the Oakes will be changing so hopefully that'll make the transition easier. Our thoughts and prayers will be with them, and I can't stress enough how much they will be missed.

In any case, a very Merry Christmas to all :) x
