Team Member Job Description
Purpose
Share the Gospel with children and young people, work on development and running of building, and receive training to equip the team member for life and ministry
Responsible to
Director (Dan Thaw) and Team Manager (Andy Peace) and work coordinators (e.g., House Manager, Estate Manager)
Responsible for
Campers and each other
Main Tasks/Responsibilities
- Dorm leading – with the campers “24/7”; facilitating dorm time
- Activity leading – preparation, explanation, and running of activity; i.e., ropes course, archery, crafts
- Lead whole camp activities – preparation, explanation, and running of entire group activities; i.e., outdoor games, bonfire, wet-weather activities
- Meeting participation – assist in camper meetings in various ways such as puppets, answering questions, sketches
- Prep time – develop camp games, camper workshops, team devotions
- Housekeeper during camps -
- Organise and delegate house cleaning
- Ensure activity set up and tidy up
- Help the camp to run smoothly and efficiently
- Provide leadership, motivation, support, and encouragement to support team
- Lead a support team Bible study
- Coordinate final camp clean up
- Support team – help with housekeeping duties, kitchen duties, and camp activities as needed
- Assistant cook – help prepare food during the camps
- Kitchen work – all kitchen jobs; i.e. set up, clean up, food prep
Additional special duties/expectations
- Live a lifestyle conducive to growing in the Lord and increasing effectiveness in Christian walk/life
- Participate in one-off events (i.e., Open Days, Appreciation Dinner, Neighbour's Meal)
- Attend monthly evening prayer meetings (first Thursday of month except January because of the holidays)
- Participate in weekly study days which provide training on the Bible and youth work
- Lead team devotions
- Help maintain and develop house and grounds (i.e., painting, mowing, etc.)
- Schools work
- Child care (optional)
- Any other tasks thought necessary to achieve the aims of The Oakes Trust
