Prayer Notes
March 2010
"Faith in a prayer-hearing God will make a prayer-loving Christian." - Andrew Murray
Work continues at a rapid pace inside and outside the house. We have been very grateful to see how generously people have given financially to the project. Phase 1 is ‘paid for’ and we now trust God to supply the remaining funds. Many people have helped in other ways too, from providing cakes, meals, furnishings to practical help. We give thanks to God for you and especially covet your ongoing prayers through this turbulent period.
Extension 2010
Praise:
- Generous donations of finance and other gifts towards the project
- Timely arrival of three pieces of steel to strengthen the floor timbers which have now been installed
- Great progress with the extension (which is almost water tight)
- The spraying and treatment has continued with the floors and the end is in sight!
- Skilled help from volunteers, David, Cory and Jason came from the USA for a few weeks and Paul Clifford (whose daughter Nat was on last year’s team) has been a huge help and encouragement to Tom and the team
- Grit being shown by the team as they undertake new tasks and at times take on mundane but necessary work. They have shown a real sense of fun and purpose throughout the project
Pray:
- For us to continue to look to God to provide all our needs financially
- That our continued witness to the builders and other contractors would bear fruit as it shows them Jesus
- That key decision makers would have wisdom and unity as they look to all that needs doing
- For Tom as he oversees the project and keeps the team busy and safe in the workplace
- For Erica as she oversees the cleaning and refurbishment of the house as rooms are finished
- For the work needed over the coming weeks :
- Build a new Team Kitchen
- Fit a new floor to Slessor
- Repair damaged plasterwork
- Install the final piece of steel (once it arrives)
- Install a permanent Audio and Visual system in the Panelled Room
- For continued energy and good health for all the team and volunteers
- That we would be ready in good time for the first camp of 2010 on 13 April
Camps
- That all this work will help the gospel go out to children and young people
- Camper mailing due out this week – that it will create bookings
- Easter camp 11-13 April to fill up
- 9 School camps coming up
- Extra helpers for the team
Other
- John now in Kenya with YWAM doing a Discipleship Training Scheme
- Helen in Kenya with the Christian Lawyers Fellowship
Thank you for your prayers for the team here. As well as all of the building work, the team is spending time preparing for camps and the Jungle summer theme. We have recently had Roger Carswell, Philip Hacking and Dave Fenton come to give teaching and training to the team which has been appreciated. Also, representatives of Wycliffe Bible Translators came during half term to give the team and Support Team friends a taster of what it might be like to work for the Lord overseas. Please praise God for the opportunities we have to train disciples and pray that the lessons learnt would last a lifetime.
