Two weeks left Well we now have two weeks left of this extension business. The builders tell me they are on schedule. After some chatting and a bit of a look at the finance they are going to finish off phase one including putting everything to rights underneath by the 26th of March. We will then move in for a manic paint session to finish off ready for camp coming in on the 13th of April. Phew.... It is very much looking like it should now. The first stair case is in, the roofers have started replacing slates and they have knocked through to the games room. Only windows, flat roof covering,second staircase,some flooring joists, and cleaning up downstairs to go. Back in the main house things are now going back together at an alarming pace. Small Slessor is back, Clare's room is back, the top floor toilets need only a small amount of decoration. Livingstone needs some coving work and painting. Big Slessor now has a floor. It will need door adjustment, skirtings and painting. The props are now out of the panelled room the projector is up the screen is up and speakers will soon follow. The wooden stairwell floor is down and being stained ready for varnish. The craft room is prepped for some up keep varnish. The new kitchen is well on the way. Cabinets, electrics and first fix plumbing are in. Work surface, tiles and ventilation will follow soon - especially as the new heavy duty flooring will be going in next Friday. Chris Priestly is in Monday to galvanise the decorating crew into action. We might be slightly busy over the next two weeks. Probably going to need a fair amount of tea and some good health.
